Arsenal midfielder, Henrikh Mkhitaryan has revealed what he expects from the club’s new manager, Unai Emery.

Mkhitaryan, who is yet to meet the former Paris Saint-Germain coach, after his appointment as the Gunners manager was confirmed on Wednesday, said he expects Emery to bring fresh tactical ideas and a new team spirit to the North London club.

The Armenian international also said that he want the Spaniard to qualify the Emirates club for the Champions League next season.

“I still haven’t had an opportunity to meet him. We didn’t have time to talk with each other,” Mkhitaryan told VivaroNews Sport.

“I hope he will bring new tactical ideas and spirit to Arsenal, and I hope he will succeed.

“I haven’t talked to my team-mates about him. I would like to meet him.

“Everyone at the club is a professional. Everyone knows what he should do and what he is expected to do.”

Mkhitaryan added, “Our priority (last season) was qualification for Champions League, but unfortunately we didn’t manage that.

“We wanted to do it and we fought for it, but everything can happen in football, so we should focus on next season and return to the Champions League in two years.”
