Man United in Gareth Bale’s Radar as Star Tells Real Madrid He Wants Old Trafford Move

Welsh professional football star, Gareth Bale has reportedly told reigning Spanish and European League champions, Real Madrid that he is on his way to Premier League side, Manchester United.

Manchester United have long wanted Bale, with the Real Madrid forward twice turning down moves in the past, yet that deal appeared to have ceased given the club’s interest in signing Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.

The Red Devils are hopeful of signing the 29-year-old by the weekend, with Sanchez potentially making his debut against Burnley on Saturday.

But Spanish website, Don Balon have now sensationally reported that Bale has told Real he will be joining Sanchez at United.

The Wales forward has struggled at the Bernabeu in the past 12 months. He was a key part of the side that won La Liga and the Champions League under Zinedine Zidane last term.

But Real are ready to let the player go with injuries seeing his impact in the Spanish capital diminish.

Don Balon say Bale has secretly talking with United for weeks about a huge move, and he has now supposedly told Real president Florentino Perez that he will be playing under Jose Mourinho next term.

Bale is even willing to take a pay cut to make the move.

ESPN pundit Steve Nicol, however, can’t see him being a United hit. “No, I don’t see him as a Mourinho player,” the Scot said.

“Bale is a player that you’ve got to give a lot of licence to to go and find the ball, to go and get it and then do what you do, which is score spectacular goals and use pace and all those things.

“I just don’t see him fitting in at United. I think it would be a lot of money for a guy who in the last 12 months has probably been sat on his backside more than he’s played on the field with injuries.

“So I just don’t see this happening, no. This is a miss for me.”
