Mariah Carey added to is adding to her beloved catalog of Christmas tunes with a new track on The Star film soundtrack. Carey tweeted early Friday (Oct. 20) morning, “Surprise! My new Christmas song THE STAR is out now! #TheStarMovie.” The song is available for download via iTunes now, while pre-order of the entire album is expected to begin on Oct. 27.
The song follows suit with the religious plot of the film The Star, an animated feature depicting the story of the first Christmas. Before a children’s choir joins in to sing the hook, “Follow your heart, it’s Christmas,” Carey sings, “Follow that star above you Should the world try to break you down There is one who waits for you Though you can’t see him now Thunder and rain surrounds you But His love’s just a breath away.
