The Federal Government has said it was working behind the scenes to ensure the release of 113 Chibok girls.

Political Adviser to Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, Mr Babafemi Ojudu, announced this during a protest by Bring Back Our Girls, BBOG, movement in Abuja, yesterday.

“There are so many things we are doing; we have not forgotten them. Negotiations are ongoing,” he said.

In April 2014, 276 girls from an all female public secondary school in Chibok were abducted by Boko Haram.

Of this figure, 57 escaped, leaving 219 missing, out of which 106 have been released through negotiations between government and the sect. This left 113 of the girls still in the custody of the group.
