Suicide bomber Salman Abedi travelled from London to Manchester on the day he committed the Manchester Arena terror attack , it’s emerged.

Sources revealed the terrorist arrived at Manchester Piccadilly after getting a train into the capital, according to the M.E.N .

The station is just a stone’s throw away from Granby Row, near Sackville Street, where armed police brandishing machine guns raided a flat on Wednesday.

The flat is believed to have been a bomb factory after neighbours revealed they noticed a “strong smell of explosives” coming from under the apartment’s doors in the days leading up the attack.

Abedi is reported to have been in the rented property – which is less than two miles from the concert hall – at 7pm on the night of the Manchester massacre.

It’s not clear whether Abedi was staying permanently at the address or if he was just visiting.

There are fears that there could be more bombs at large created by the network Abedi was linked to.

Chief Constable, Ian Hopkins, has confirmed that the eight arrests GMP have made since the attack are “significant” and searches of premises, including the flat at Granby Row, have revealed “items” which are “very important” to the investigation.

There have also been reports via German intelligence that Abedi was in Dusseldorf just four days before his devastating atrocity which killed 22 people and injured 119.

The rucksack he was wearing carrying at the time of the attack was bought in Sports Direct in Manchester’s Arndale Centre on Friday evening.

The blue Karrimor-branded backpack was purchased from the basement of the store for about £18.

There are indications that Abedi paused outside the Arena for a period of time then walked into the foyer of the Arena and detonated his device to cause maximum injury.
