Barcelona Target Signs Five-year Deal With Premier League Club Liverpool

​Premier League club Liverpool have announced on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 that star midfielder Philippe Coutinho has signed a new five year deal which will make him stay at Anfield till 2022.

The 24-year-old Brazilian will now be the club’s highest paid footballer after his new deal as he will earn £150,000 every week.

Since joining Liverpool in January 2013 from Inter Milan, Coutinho has scored 34 goals in 163 appearances for the Reds.

Coutinho who has been heavily linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona said that he wants to stay at Anfield for more years.

“I signed this new contract to stay here for a few more years because it’s a great honor for me.

“It gives me great happiness because I was welcomed here with open arms by everyone at the club and the supporters right from my first day.” Coutinho explained.
