Iran to Issue License Plate Numbers to Camels to Reduce Road Accidents

Published

on

At least 100,000 camels have been given personal registration numbers in Iran as authorities work towards curbing road traffic accidents. The large numbers of the animals in the country’s street have led to damages, accidents, losses to residents especially in Sistan and Baluchestan provinces that border Afghanistan and Pakistan. With 35,000 more camels to be registered, the authorities in the country will have an easier time of tracking camel owners who get involved in accidents. The registration is also an attempt at making Iranians more responsible of their animals and reducing trafficking of commodities and currency in the provinces
