Father of NYSC Member Narrates How he Paid N200k as Ransom Before his Daughter was Freed
Father of the Youth corp member Grace Edegware who was kidnapped on her way to Abuja by suspected herdsmen in Kwali area has revealed that he paid N200, 000 to his daughter’s abductors to secure her release. The graduate of Accountancy who had just completed her three weeks orientation program at the Lagos camp was on her way to Abuja when the kidnappers stopped them at gunpoint.
According to Grace, the kidnappers requested for N15million as ransom from her family before taking them into the bush where she and the others were made to sleep on the grass and eat roasted yam for days. She also narrated that they were made to drink water from the only source available which was a dirty stream. Grace’s father, Francis said he could not come up with the amount requested so he kept begging the kidnappers. He confirmed that his wife took the money to them to free their daughter.
Grace also took to Facebook to narrate her ordeal from the 19th of December the day she was taken to the 24th of December the day she gained her freedom.
