​A man has been horribly embarrassed in broad daylight after he was caught committing a crime.

The man was identified as a thug who usually terrorized people in his area.

He broke into the same house for the fourth time on Saturday but his luck ran out.

According to Daily Sun SA, the man, whose name is still not yet given, from Everest squatter camp, Ekurhuleni, South Africa, was busted by the owners of the house in nearby Payneville, who called neighbours to the scene.

Residents stripped off his clothes before moering him with sjamboks and sticks. After he was beaten, the suspect was forced to do a n*ked walk of shame from Payneville to the squatter camp.

An angry resident told Daily Sun: “We won’t call the cops because they will arrest him and let him back on to the streets tomorrow. This is the right punishment for him. We won’t kill him because we may be caught.”

At one point the thug tried to run away from residents and hide in a toilet, but he was dragged out and forced to continue the walk of shame.

Bystanders laughed as he went past them, but one resident felt sorry for him and gave him a piece of cardboard to cover his 4-5. Blood was oozing from his wounds and he was badly bruised.

The owner of the house said: “This man stole a lot of things from us. He would wait for us to leave and come into the house to steal.

“He took clothes, cellphones and appliances. On one occasion, we saw him jumping over the wall and chased him, but he disappeared into another house. He was like a rat, but today his ancestors have turned their backs on him.

“This is a warning to thugs to stay away from Payneville. We are not going to call the cops. We will teach thugs a lesson ourselves.”
