Cross River State Government Set To Fly Their Own Flight Called ‘Cally Air’

The Cross River state government is set to float its own airline in November, Governor Ben Ayade has revealed.

This is coming at a time the nation has been officially tagged as being in recession with a number of states unable to pay workers’ salaries.

According to the governor, the airline to be called Cally Air, would be Managed by Dana Group, which will serve as its technical partner.

Ayade stated this in Calabar on Monday, when he played host to a group of Indian investors, adding that the airline, a Public Private Partnership, PPP, initiative with Dana Group, will fly Calabar, Obudu, Lagos and Abuja routes.

The governor further disclosed that the state has an aircraft that is currently in the fleet of Aero Contractors in Lagos, which Dana has agreed to do a detailed technical study on before launching it into commercial flight operations.

The Managing Director of Dana Group, Jackies Hartmani, on his part, said he was excited over the partnership between his group and the Cross River State government.

According to Hartmani, Dana Group is impressed with the way the state governor is transforming the state in terms of investment, pledging the commitment of his company to ensuring the success of the partnership.
