#Rio2016: Nigeria Beat Sweden 1-0 To Reach Quarter-finals
The Dream Team of Nigeria in the wee hours of Monday defeated their Swedish counterpart to qualify for the quarter-final of the of the men’s football event of the ongoing Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
The defeat of the Swedes is coming two days after the Samson Siasia-tutored team beat their Japanese counterparts 5-4
With a game in hand, the Dream Team have qualified for the quarter-final as other teams in the group were still with one point or none as at the end of the game against Sweden.
Nigeria could only score one against the Sweden as the match ended 1-0 at the Arena Amazonia in Manaus on Sunday to reach the quarter finals of the 2016 Olympic Games.
Samson Siasia’s men dominated the game but could only convert one of their numerous chances via a first half (39′) header from Sadiq Umar, AS Roma striker
