Barcelona & Real Madrid To Tour Nigeria

​Football loving Nigerians have been promised a huge prospect of the Spanish La Liga big guns, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid visiting the country on a playing tour in a no distant time.


President of La Liga, Javier Tebas gave the assurance over the weekend in Abuja during the official opening of the Nigeria La Liga office.

The new office which has a full compliment of both Nigerian and Spanish staff is part of the collaborative agreement between the League Management Company of Nigeria (LMC) and the Spanish league organizers.

Tebas said the bilateral agreement will be a win win venture for both countries because there will always be one thing or the other the two leagues can learn and gain from each other.

He noted that Nigerian players have been plying their trade in Spain for a long time adding that with this relationship, it only means that more Nigerians will be gracing the turfs of various clubs in La Liga.

The La Liga boss further stated that the already scheduled game between the Nigerian Premier League stars with their Spanish counterparts next week in Spain is part of the dividends of the mutual relationship which he added will afford both sides to learn one thing or the other from the encounter.

In his own remarks, Chairman of the LMC and first vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mallam Shehu Dikko said they chose the La Liga because it is the best league in the world and that Nigeria stands to learn a lot from them.

According to him, the effort of making Nigeria be like Spain in the administration of football has started yielding results as no fewer than 10 leagues across Africa have already signified interest to come and understudy the Nigerian LMC.

Dikko however appealed for the support of everybody to ensure that Nigerian football was developed to its full potentials.
