Workers’ Day Celebration: FG Declares Monday Public Holiday

The Federal Government has announced Monday, May 2, 2016, as a public holiday to commemorate the 2016 Workers’ Day Celebration.
The Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.), disclosed this yesterday.
In the statement which was released by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Bassey Akpanyung, Nigerian workers were congratulated for “their resilience, hard work and commitment to the change mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari, despite current challenges.”
The workers were urged the workers to continue to support President Buhari in his fight against corruption and also in his aim to ensure security of lives and property; stabilize the economy through creation of jobs and diversify of the economy.
