Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia has promised Nigerians to expect a ‘brand new team’ when they take on Egypt in Friday’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Siasia who spoke to the media ahead of the game in Kaduna admitted the game will not be easy but he is confident in the attitude of his players ahead of the game.
Siasia said: “It won’t be easy but we’ve been working hard to win. Nigeria will see the brand new Super Eagles against the Pharoahs.”
Siasia praised Ahmed Musa for handing the skipper’s armband to Mikel Obi.
“He knew it was not the right time for him and I salute him for that. Mikel is the biggest player in the squad having spent over a decade with Chelsea and in the national team,” Siasia added.
“From what I’ve seen in training. Things have changed and I’m not scared but the only thing that I’m a bit worried about is the heat.
“We have to play smart. We don’t have to run at all times. The team will win very well.”
He also revealed that Aaron Samuel who suffered a knock in Wednesday’s training will face a last minute test before the game.
“We will see if he features in the game. The defenders we have in the team won’t miss anyone,” he said.
