Danger Averted As NAF Jet Veers Off Runway, Lands In Ditch
The Nigerian Airforce said Friday, that one of its fighter aircraft prosecuting the war aon terror, veered of the runway and fell into a ditch, on landing at the Yola airport and that no life was lost in the accident.
A statement signed by the Director, Airforce Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, “A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet aircraft (NAF/457) has veered off the runway at Yola Airport.
“The incident happened yesterday (Thursday) at about 1900hrs (7:00pm) when the aircraft was returning from a late evening attack at the Sambisa Forest.
“The aircraft, on landing, veered off the runway, and stopped at a ditch beside therunway.
“No life was lost as both’pilots on board came outunhurt
The statement added that “Investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing.”
