55-Year-Old British Runner, Mike Freeman Collapsed & Died 50m From Malta Marathon Finish Line

Mike Freeman, a British male marathon runner, believed to be 55 years of age died in Malta while running a marathon accompanied by his wife.
According to Reporters, Freeman, from Essex, was just 50 yards from the finish line in the coastal town of Sliema when he took unwell.
The 55-year-old classroom assistant used what proved to be his final words to joke with wife Nicola that he would have to wait until next year to complete the race in front of waiting family and friends.
The man according to Metro UK, complained of chest pain few weeks ago but was given the all clear to participate in the race by his doctor.
He was seen being treated by paramedics after he collapsed. He was rushed to the local Mater Dei Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
It is believed he was taking part in the race with members of Great Notley based Michelle’s Running Group
