Lionel Messi Tops World's Highest Earning Footballer [See Full List]
4-time World Footballer of the Year Lionel Messi is the highest-paid footballer in the world. He took home nearly $1.4million-a-week last year in wages and sponsorship deals.
The Argentina and Barcelona star earned a staggering $72million in 201. He made about $38million as his club salary and the rest were from lucrative endorsements with the likes of adidas, FIFA 15 and Turkish Airlines.
This makes him richer than his arch-rival, Cristiano Ronaldo who brought in about $60million in 2014. This is according to the latest France Football magazine rich list. See the rest after the cut..
