Story of Kidnapped 40 Youths Is Fake, Made Up By Foreign Media – Nigerian Military
The Nigerian military allegedly doubt the abduction of 40 youths in Malari, Borno State, saying it’s part of foreign media plan to ridicule the country’s armed forces.
Despite the evidence obtained from the residents, the military debunked information.
While the Director of Defence Information (DDI) Maj-Gen. Chris Olukolade could not be reached for the comments, a senior officer characterized the reports as rumours.
“Is this not one of those foreign propaganda they are spreading with their local conspirators? It is one of those phony stories being spread by the locals giving conflicting figures and alarms that are not true.
“The other time they said it’s about 150 being kidnapped and were they able to
justify it? No. They are just trying to be alarmist and that is why the military will keep them guessing.”
It would be recalled that 185 women and were reported kidnapped in Gumsuri, Borno State, in December. However the military claimed they were yet to confirm the fact of abduction.
