Skrtel Rescues A Point For 10-Man Liverpool
Martin Skrtel scored in the seventh minute of injury time to resue a point for struggling Liverpool against Arsenal on Sunday.
Philippe Coutinho gave the hosts the lead with a fine finish from the edge of the area, only for Mathieu Debuchy to hit back immediately following a Alexis Sanchez free kick.
Liverpool started the second period as strongly as the first, but again failed to turn their dominance into goals to allow Olivier Giroud to finish off a counterattacking move with their only meaningful attack of the half.
Brendan Rodgers’ misery was compounded in injury time as second-half substitute Fabio Borini was sent off just 16 minutes after his introduction, only to see Skrtel head home a powerful equaliser the 97th minute.
