Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar’s son, Mustapha has blasted Rivers state Governor Rotimi Amaechi for criticizing President Jonathan.
Punch reports that Mustapha pointed that despite Jonathan’s alleged incompetence, the President deserves respect from all governors irrespective of party affiliations.
Mustapha Abubakar took to twitter to share his opinion saying:
“I remember very well that Amaechi was one of Jonathan’s biggest supporters for a while. Amaechi is not the only one who sees or talks about GEJ’s incompetence, but he’s the one who criticises irresponsibly the most.
“But whenever Amaechi takes on the President, he does so with no sense of decorum, which is wrong for a leader. Gov. Oshiomole always accords the President a rousing welcome whenever he visits his state. This is a mature leader”.
Meanwhile, Mustapha who blasted Amaechi over his comments about President Jonathan, however expressed he has no love for the President himself.
Mustapha expressed confidence that the President Jonathan will be defeated in 2015 Elections saying: “by the votes of Nigerians and the will of God” Jonathan must return to his country home in Otuoke, Bayelsa State, come 2015″. Nigerians and God know he is ineligible.”
Mustapha Abubakar also went ahead to blast First Lady Patience Jonathan describing her as “an embarrassment to the Presidency.”
Recall recently, Governor Amaechi had accused President  Jonathan over his refusal to bring any project to Rivers state while urging the people of Rivers state against voting him in the second term in 2015 saying it will crumble the state’s economy.
Mustapha’s father, Atiku Abubakar is a presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
Meanwhile the presidency has since responded to Governor Amaechi’s statement saying:
“Governor Rotimi Amaechi took his obnoxious willingness to denigrate the highest office in the land in a reckless bid to advance his selfish political interests to a new level of irresponsible and rascally behaviour.”
“Unless his unbridled ambition and desire for self- promotion have completely befuddled his mental faculties and caused him to totally lose touch with reality, Governor Amaechi must know that his claims and allegations are untrue.”
Mustapha Atiku Abubakar who has a passion for entrepreneurship is an advocate of better youth participation in governance and politics in Nigeria.
He is reportedly the Vice Chairman of the Board of Haynes-Worth International Limited.
