NSCDC Uncovers Illegal Refinery In Achuze, Kogi State
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has uncovered an illegal refinery in Achuze, a boundary town between Kogi and Edo States.
The refinery which has an administrative building and capacity to contain 150,000 litres of the petrol, also has a restaurant in front as a decoy.
The Kogi State Commandant, Mr. Dayo Adesuyi, who led the operation, weekend, disclosed that at least 80 drums containing crude oil waiting to be refined were discovered.
He said the refinery had been set ablaze by his men, adding that one suspect was arrested, while others escaped after a gun battle.
He also said the illegal refinery could refine 10,000 litres of fuel per day, stressing that the command is determined to ensure that those behind the act are fished out
