Wife seeks Divorce for Lack of Care from the Husband

A 38-year-old housewife, Kerimat Wahab, on Thursday prayed an Ilorin Area Court, Kwara State to dissolve her six-year- old marriage to Aliyu Wahab, her husband for alleged failure to take care of the family.
The plaintiff, who resides at Oloje Area of Ilorin, told the court that her husband doesn’t provide for their needs as expected of him.
“I’m the only one struggling to meet the family needs since my husband is always reluctant to play his fatherly role and fond of complaining to everything that requires his attention” she said.
She said that Wahab always run away from his responsibilities as the head of the house, adding that the marriage was contracted in 2008 and had produced two female children, Saidat.6, and Kaosarat, 3.
“My lord, I want an end to this marriage because I’m fed up with my husband irresponsible behavior” she said.
Wahab, however, objected to his wife’s prayer, and told the court that he was still interested in the marriage.
“My wife is never contented with little thing, instead she keep complaining every time” he said.
The respondent promised to henceforth discharge his duties as the head, and prayed the court for an adjournment to make peace with his wife.
The Judge, Yusuf Abdulkareem, adjourned the case to May 15, for a report of settlement or continuation of hearing.
