Breaking News: Cinema Release Of This Year's Most Awaited Movie In Nigeria Is Postponed
The nationwide cinema release of the much-awaited Half of a Yellow Sun movie has been postponed.
According to iROKOtv.com, the new target date is May 2, 2014, Friday. The Nigerian distributors of Half of a Yellow Sun, FilmOne Distribution, and the Nigeria producers, Shareman Media, have released the joint statement in this regard, explaining the
reason of the delay.
“The highly anticipated release of Half of a Yellow Sun in Nigeria has been postponed due to delays in obtaining certification from the Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board for the public release of the film. Subject to obtaining the certification of the Board, the film is now rescheduled for release on 2nd May 2014.”
It would be recalled that the initial date of the release was April 25, 2014.
The movie, based on the novel by a prominent Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, is expected to become a record-breaking film. A London-born star actor of Nigerian origin, Chiwetel Ejiofor, visited Lagos for its premiere in April 12, 2014.
