President Tinubu orders immediate release of minors arrested for participating in End Bad governance protest
President Tinubu has ordered the immediate release of all the minors arrested and facing prosecution in court over their alleged involvement in the #EndBadGovernance protest that took place across the country in August.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents in Abuja today November 4. He also mentioned that President Tinubu also directed all the law enforcement agents involved in the arrest, detention, and prosecution of the minors to be investigated and anyone found culpable, would face appropriate disciplinary action.
Idris revealed that President Tinubu also directed the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction to oversee the welfare of the minors.
This comes following a public outcry after videos of the minors looking malnourished and even fainting while being arraigned before a High Court in Abuja last Friday, went viral.
