“Popsy no send him papa” – Reactions as video shows moment Davido avoided Wizkid name while singing his hit song with Adekunle Gold ‘High’ at recent event (Watch)
Fans have been buzzing once again after a video surfaced showing Davido subtly avoiding mentioning Wizkid’s name while performing his hit song, “High,” at a recent event.
The nostalgic track, ‘High’, a music collaboration between Davido and Adekunle Gold, has been one of the chart-topping songs in the Afrobeats world. In the song’s lyrics, Adekunle Gold expressed how he is living his life to the fullest and forgetting all other worries by comparing himself with Nigerian singer Wizkid.
Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, recently dished out his classic performance at celebrity pastor Tobi Adegboyega’s birthday party. While he was entertaining his audiences with his infectious energy and mesmerizing voice, Davido sang Adekunle Gold’s part of the song alongside a backup guitarist.
Fans quickly took notice when Davido creatively skipped Wizkid’s name, prompting fans to speculate on social media about whether the move was intentional or simply a natural flow of the performance.
At the start of the clip, Davido is seen singing the lyrics of “High” word for word. However, when he reached the part that mentions Wizkid’s name, he paused, letting the guitarist carry on with the melody to complete the song.
