Diddy claims prosecutors showed judge edited Cassie video to make him look dangerous
Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has accused federal prosecutors of manipulating evidence to portray him as more dangerous ahead of his bail hearing scheduled for Friday. In court documents filed by his legal team,
Diddy alleges that prosecutors presented an edited version of a 2016 surveillance video to the judge, altering the sequence of events to strengthen their case against him.
The video in question reportedly shows an altercation between Diddy and singer Cassie Ventura at a hotel in March 2016. Diddy’s attorneys argue that the unedited version of the footage, which they claim the prosecution possesses, paints a more accurate picture of what they describe as a “domestic dispute.” They assert that the altered version was used to present “the most powerful evidence of danger and obstruction” against their client.
Contrary to allegations that he “dragged” Cassie down a hallway or threw a vase at her, Diddy maintains he only threw the vase’s contents during the incident. His legal team describes the video as a “sad glimpse into a decade-long consensual relationship” rather than evidence of coercion or sex trafficking.
Diddy also denies accusations related to “freak-off” events and sex trafficking, suggesting that the prosecutors’ portrayal is a deliberate attempt to influence the judge into denying him bail.
The case has drawn significant public attention, with the surveillance footage becoming a focal point of debate over the allegations. Diddy’s team argues that the prosecution’s approach undermines a fair evaluation of the facts as his legal battle unfolds.
