Residents fleeing bandits attack drown in Niger state
Four residents have drowned while fleeing from bandits attack in Gurmana community, Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

Residents of the community usually take a canoe to an island to hide from bandits who frequently attack the area.
The bandits were said to have killed three persons on Wednesday night, June 5, 2024, rustled cattle, and abducted scores in Bassa near Gurmana.
It was gathered that some residents fled to the island that night. The victims were said to be returning home on Thursday when their boat capsized.
