“I’m always at the bottom of my class, my position was 52 out of 52 students” – Toke Makinwa Lament (Video)
Popular Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa recently sparked reactions online as she unwrapped unknown things about her academic career.
In the video that hit the internet, 39 -year-old Toke Makinwa who is a fashion icon said that she was always at the bottom of her class.
She made this known at the launch of her fragrance collection “Toke Makinwa Beauty” yesterday May 7th, 2024 in Victoria Island, Lagos filled with celebrities and fans.
While appreciating the mother who adopted her after losing her parents to a gas cylinder explosion, Toke Makinwa said while she was in school her position was 52 out of 52 students.
She said that one day she tried to outsmart her mother by cleaning the figure 5 from her 52 position on the report card.
Speaking further, Toke Makinwa utters that 2nd position was left on her report card and she handed it over to her mother who has been talking to her over her poor academic performance thinking that she has convinced her.
Upon checking the result, the mother found out that Toke Makinwa had cleaned the 5 as the result presented to her did not levelled up to 2nd position.
Toke Makinwa said her mother upon finding out poured her frustration into her and by extension beat her to filth.
However, Toke Makinwa who is now one of the finest host/presenter in Nigeria worth multi-millions of naira thanks her mother for not giving up on her at the launch of her fragrance collection.
She said that despite her bad results in her school days, her mother will always encourage her to read and never give up.
In the clip, the mother was super excited as she was seen praying for Toke Makinwa.
