Lady solo-driving from London to Lagos arrives Nigeria after 68 days, receives warm welcome from Nigerians (Video)

Pelumi Nubi, the content creator who embarked on a solo road trip from London to Lagos, has arrived in Nigeria, today, April 7, sparking excitement among her lovers and well-wishers.



Nubi was received at the Nigeria-Benin Republic border on behalf of Lagos state government by Commissioner of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka and the Special Adviser, Tourism, Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe.

It can be recalled that she faced several obstacles along the way when she got involved in an auto crash. Video showed severe damage to her vehicle’s front and a shattered windshield.

Nubi started from England, crossed into France, Spain and headed to Morocco then through the West Sahara Desert, Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Ghana, Togo, Benin finally reaching Lagos.

Nubi’s passion for travel is not new. In 2022, she made headlines for having visited 77 countries by the age of 27. With her latest adventure, she has further expanded her global footprint.

In a video capturing her arrival, Pelumi, who started her journey on January 31st, also received a grand welcome from Nigeria upon getting to Lagos.

In the video, the solo driver was welcomed with dance and drums. She was dressed in a lilac traditional attire as she showed off her local dance steps while dancing enthusiastically with her lovers.

Her arrival was also confirmed by Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to Lagos Governor, Gboyega Akosile, as he took to his social media app on Sunday.

He wrote,
