“Arresting Yahoo boys is not going to save Nigeria” – Seun Kuti says (Video)

Popular Nigerian musician and youngest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, Seun Kuti, has sparked some discussions online as he shared his opinions on arresting Nigerian internet fraudsters, locally known as Yahoo Boys.



The self acclaimed ‘Big Bird Kuti’ revealed in a video where he revealed that putting Yahoo boys behind the bars will not bring significant change into Nigeria.

According to him, Nigeria’s failure to stabilize the economy brought about the massive production of fraudsters in the country, causing abuzz on social media.

Seun Kuti stated that Nigeria is already full of dirty politicians so arresting Yahoo Boys will not save the country.

He, however, berated Nigerians in diaspora who kept on saying that fraudsters bring shames on to the country with fraudulent acts, asserting that the politicians steal money more.

In his words,

If they arrest every single yahoo boys in Nigeria and locked up nothing in Nigeria will change because before Yahoo boys comes to Nigeria, Nigeria has spoilt. Infact, Nigeria brought up Yahoo boys”.

“Wetin dey pay me pass are the Nigerians wey dey Abroad that talked that those Yahoo boys are bringing bad names, no be say na your country billions made in Oil is disappearing at the same time”.
