Father weeps as his 1st class graduate daughter dies in Rivers hospital during routine checkup

A family is mourning and demanding for Justice after their daughter, Rebeka Sekidika, a first class Univeristy graduate died in a hospital in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.


According to reports, Rebeka passed away during a hospital visit for a routine procedure, hence, her family is accusing the hospital of medical negligence.

Rebeka who was set to travel abroad to further her education had visited Paragon Clincs & Imaging in Port Harcourt after she missed her period for three months.

According to her father who narrated the tragic incident, a number of tests, including pregnancy test, were done on the 24-year-old and they all came out negative.


She then returned to the hospital for a diagnostic hysterescopy.

She was perfectly fine when she visited the hospital on February 2nd for a non-life-threatening diagnostic procedure. While waiting, she even attended her online class using her laptop at the hospital before seeing the doctor.

However, minutes later, her parents report hearing commotion coming from the theatre and they were later informed that Rebeka had died.

The father, who is grieving, mentioned that when he entered the operating room, he found his daughter in a pool of blood. He is puzzled as to how his previously healthy daughter could end up in such a state.
