A Nigerian lady strongly criticises wealthy businessman Tony Elumelu for mistreating his housemaid..

Elumelu shared a video of his family cheering Super Eagles star Moses Simon during the Nigeria vs. Angola match. The video showed his wife and children in similar football jerseys in the living room, with his housemaid standing behind them, resting against the wall.

The lady in a post via the X platform Identified as Vickey DSniper criticized the businessman for excluding his housemaid from the match video, drawing a comparison to her experience.

She expressed her aspirations to improve her circumstances and emphasized the importance of employers involving their house workers in daily activities, especially during downtime. She stressed that domestic workers are integral members of a family, regardless of perceptions.

Directing her message to Tony Elumelu, she highlighted the family’s collective celebration in Nigerian jerseys but questioned the exclusion of the housemaid, deeming it unfair and questioning the message it conveyed.

When challenged, she reiterated the significant roles house helps play in cooking and managing household chores, underscoring the importance of treating them with respect and inclusion.

In her words;

“I was once in the position of this girl behind…🥲

I’m not exactly where I want to be currently, but I’m trying😇

Dear Bosses, pls try to carry your house workers along with your daily activities especially when they’re less busy. Because whether you like it or not, they’re now part of your family.

Dear @TonyOElumelu, Everyone wore the Nigerian jersey to celebrate the super eagles but your house help didn’t, making her feel different and left out. Why pls?”

She added, “Oh well, for someone COOKING FOR YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY TO EAT DAILY. Someone living in the same house with you daily and doing all your jobs, you have to treat him/her as family or at least “NICEST. It’s common sense. Forget about the payment, how much do they even pay house helps?”
