Reactions as Don Jazzy SELLS OFF Mavin Records

It is a surprising day in music as news breaks out about the acquisition of the most popular record label in Nigeria, MAVIN Records, by international music conglomerate Universal Music Group. Here’s everything you need to know.

Universal Music Group now owns majority stake in Mavin Records.

In a statement released by Universal Music Group today, it was revealed that the deal with Mavin Records remains subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close by the end of the third quarter this year.

Don Jazzy has also made the announcement on his social media saying:

One of the biggest music commentators, Demola, who runs NotJustOk reacted to the news saying:
