HIV, a serious virus, damages the immune system and interferes with the body’s ability to fight infection and disease. It is a contributor to a large percentage of deaths in the country.
This can be treated with antiretroviral medicines, which work by stopping the virus replicating in the body. This allows the immune system to repair itself and prevent further damage.
The health activist, who has been tested positive with HIV since teenage years, captioned the video, “This is what happens when you adhere to treatment”.
