Popular Nigerian singer, Kelly Hansome, has shared his unpleasant experience during an Imo State Forum meeting organized by the All Progressive Congress, (APC) United States chapter.

The ‘Maga’ hit-maker was kicked out of the venue of the occasion by police that was called by the organisers after he expressed his displeasure with the agenda of the meeting.

Kelly Hansome, an Imo native who is based in the United States, vehemently opposed the idea of reelecting the current governor of the state, Hope Uzodinma.

In a video posted on his Instagram page, the musician was seen being escorted out of the meeting by the police for expressing his discontent with events in their home state of Imo.

Speaking in the short clip, Kelly said; “we are not going to vote for Hope Uzodinma.”

He also explained the situation via his his Instagram page, saying that certain politicians in Imo state, including Senator Athan Achonuwere, invited him for the event and later attempted to suppress his freedom of speech.

He wrote: “Trying to practice the suppression of freedom of speech in a country where there is respect for human rights is a dumb move. They called the police to escort me out and I left, honourably. No disrespect intended, just the truth. Everybody knows the truth.

You came to know our mind and we have told you our mind and you have asked us out and we’re out. That’s suspicious. Where’s the money? Nowhere. So, stop speaking English.

Senator Atan invited me to join the Imo State forum, apparently organized by APC to canvass for another four years of failure to do the needful. I’m trying to set the records straight about his statement on the insecurity issues in Imo State, he indirectly admitted that the government of Imo State was responsible for the insecurity in the state that took lives of our loved ones over there and has kept the whole state in fear and unrest.

We have people living in Imo. So we get reports from them directly. Nobody should collaborate with anyone to destroy his own people, that is not ok. It would have been better to come clean, saying, we have failed you, so, what do we do to make things better starting from this moment? Not trying to fool us.”
