Residents in Port Harcourt rescued a group of boys who were being harassed by police in the state capital and it was captured on tape.

The young men were driving a black coloured Mercedes Benz when the officers stopped them and conducted a search. But when they were done searching and could not find anything incriminating, they wanted to arrest the motorist and his friends.

It was gathered that the incident happened at Iwofe Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

A mob gathered and intervened in the matter, thereby preventing the security personnel from whisking the boys away.

In a video which surfaced on social media, a crowd could be seen fighting for the boys to be freed and they were eventually allowed to drive off. As the police officers were leaving with their van, the crowd was happy and they started booing them.
