A 25-year-old Ghanaian man, Godwin Darko, has been arrested for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, one 24-year-old Felicia Abena Oparibea.

The suspect allegedly stormed his ex-lover’s apartment, murdered her in cold blood and beheaded her for ending their relationship.

According to reports, the victim who was originally from Suhum had to move to Trom Junction 5 about a year ago due to threats from her boyfriend after she made the decision to break up with him.

Despite the lady’s attempts to move forward with her life while working as a bar attendant at a popular bar in the area, her ex-boyfriend continued to show violent tendencies.

It was gathered that the suspect visited the victim at her new residence while the fanfare of a naming ceremony was going on in her compound over the weekend.

He forcefully put a piece of cloth in her mouth to silence her cries for help, and proceeded to slit her throat. He then scaled the compound fence and threw away the murder weapon.

Later that evening, he was consumed with guilt and surrendered himself to the police wearing a redshirt with the inscription ‘Rest in Peace’ on the back.

It is worth noting that the deceased had shared a video on TikTok saying she can never return to her ex-boyfriend. However, it remains uncertain whether the murder is directly connected to the content of the video.
