JUST IN: Obaseki sacks all commissioners, SAs, SSAS with immediate effect

On Wednesday, May 3rd, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State dissolved the State Executive Council. Obaseki said the dissolution of the council was with immediate effect, The Nigerian Tribune reported.

The governor announced this during the Weekly Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday, May 3rd.

Obaseki expressed appreciation to the outgone members of the council for their service to the government and people of the state.

A statement endorsed by Crusoe Osagie, special adviser, media projects, said that all special assistants (SAs) and senior special assistants (SSAs) had been relieved of their appointments.

Edujandon.com previously reported that with the pitiful outing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State in the February 25 presidential and National Assembly elections, the state Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has taken to the streets to ask for votes as the popularity of his party declined in the state.

This is as his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has fully returned to the political scene after recording victory in the last election

The battle for Edo State House of Assembly has become fierce as two political heavyweights in the state, Governor Godwin Obaseki of the PDP and his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole of the APC, are locked in a fierce battle.
