“I wish someone was honest about surrogacy” – Khloe Kardashian says she feels ‘less connected’ to her son
American media personality and socialite, Khloé Kardashian, has admitted that she struggled to connect with her newborn son, whom she had through surrogacy.
Khloe welcomed Tatum, her second child with her ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson through surrogacy in July 2022.
In the Season 3 premiere of Hulu’s “The Kardashians” on Thursday, May 25, she revealed that it didn’t fully register that she was having a child until she arrived at the hospital.
The reality star expressed her mixed feelings about the surrogacy process, which she described as transactional, and shared her guilt over another woman giving birth to her child.
“I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby,” Kardashian confessed in a confessional.
“I take the baby and go to another room, and you’re sort of separated. It’s such a transactional experience because it’s not about him.” She said.
She also mentioned feeling shocked throughout the entire surrogacy experience.
“I wish someone had been honest about surrogacy and the differences involved,” she said, clarifying that it’s not a negative thing, she added, “It’s still great, just very different.”
During a conversation with her sister Kim Kardashian, who welcomed two of her four children through surrogacy, and Kourtney Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend Scott Disick, Khloé admitted that the process had been challenging for her.
“It’s a mind-f–k. It’s really the weirdest thing,” she told them.
