EFCC arrests ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ crossdresser, 32 others over fraud in Lagos

A crossdresser identified as Owoseni Gabriel, has been arrested alongside 32 others over alleged internet fraud in Lagos state.


Operatives of the EFCC Lagos Zonal Command were said to have apprehended and detained Gabriel after he posed as a woman to evade for involvement in computer-related fraud.

The suspects include; Salaudeen Hammed, Akinsanya Olamilekan, Olamofe Joshua, Akindele Saheed, Damilare Micheal, Patoki Ayomiku, Olakunle Ismail, Babalola Ayomide, Afolabi Olaibola, Abiodun Olayinka, Samuel Ogunyemi, Adebayo Olarewaju, Abdul-Fatai Olawale & Hassan Ayofe.

Others are: Samson Jeremiah, Kolawole Afeez, Owoseni Gabriel, Makinde Oluwasegun, Daniel Seun, Adefolahan Isreal, Olusegun Emmanuel, Olawore Micheal, Hammed Raheem, Micheal Tunde, Francis Chibundu, Jesse Oluwatobiloba, Adenekan Ayotunde, Qudus Adeyi, Sulaimon Oladimeji, Kayode Sunday, Daniel Owosine & Boluwatife Gbolahan.

EFCC disclosed that they were arrested on May 2, 2023 at the Iyana Ipaja axis of Lagos State, following credible intelligence.

The Commission said they will be charged to court after investigations have been concluded.

Similarly, the Kebbi State police command arrested a crossdresser identified with a pseudonym ‘Maryam’ which he uses to deceive unsuspecting men.

He was said to have engaged numerous men in online affairs and got them scrambling to take him as a wife without knowing he is a man.


The crossdresser, from Gwandune town, allegedly received thousands of Naira from suitors trying to get ‘her’ to accept their marriage proposals.

However, things took a different turn when the victims started inquiring what was so special about Maryam that had many men ready to fall over each other for his love.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime adding that he got a lot of money including foreign notes from the several men who wooed her.

According to the Police, ‘Maryam’ has been detained and will face prosecution. A video which went viral online captures the drag queen putting on a show as his female personality online.
