Nollywood’s first-ever game debuts with Aki and Pawpaw
Nollywood’s first-ever game has been developed with an adventure theme and launched on digital stores.
Filmmaker, Charles Okpaleke, on Friday, unveiled the game adaptation of Temple Run titled ‘Epic Run’ featuring movie stars Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme, (Aki & Pawpaw) as lead characters.
He revealed that the game was developed by Play Network Studio in collaboration with Blueportal Software.

A Play Network Studios initiative,” Okpaleke wrote alongside a video demo.
‘Epic Run’ just like the original of a similar name, is a game which sees the cunning and exuberant duo go on an adventurous run in an attempt to escape trouble.
The images which were created with the faces of Chinedu and Osita, and it appears to have also been voiced by them.
Okpaleke first announced in 2021 that the game was in its final stage of development.
He wrote; “We are happy to announce that in line with our exclusive exploitation rights to the brand ‘Aki & PawPaw’, we are at the final stages of the first ever Nollywood Game, Aki & Paw Paw Epic Run, powered by @playnetworkafr and @playnetworkstudios..”
His studio produced a remake of the Aki And Pawpaw movie in 2021 after acquiring the rights to the Aki and Pawpaw brand.
The movie opened with N30 million before landing a licensing deal with Netflix.
The duo made their acting debut as Aki and Pawpaw in the 2002 Aki Na Ukwa movie. More than two decades later and they have become household names with successful careers.
