Construction worker abducted and killed in Bayelsa
Gunmen suspected to be cultists, abducted a construction worker identified as Wale, after which they killed and dumped his corpse along the Gloryland Drive Expressway in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
According to the neighbours, the victim was ambushed by the armed men on Friday night, March 31, close to his house along school road, Akenpai axis of Yenagoa as he was returning from work. He was then ordered by the abductors to drive them in his car to an unknown destination. Wale whose body was found on Saturday, April 1 appeared to have died from a gunshot.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Asinim Butswat, said the police suspects that the death was cult-related, adding that men of the command have begun an investigation into the incident. He further stated that the corpse had been evacuated to the mortuary for autopsy.
