Casemiro gets into heated argument with Bruno Fernandes after Manchester United beat Aston Villa

Manchester United star Casemiro was spotted arguing with Bruno Fernandes after their win over Aston Villa.

The Red Devils managed to claim a vital 1-0 victory over Unai Emery’s high-flyers to all but confirm a spot in the top four.

But Casemiro was less than pleased with Fernandes at full-time after losing the ball with 20 seconds left on the clock.

The Brazilian could be seen in a heated argument with the midfielder, venting his frustrations over some careless play.

In the end, the two hugged it out but it showed Casemiro’s winning spirit that has had such a big impact at Old Trafford.

The former Real Madrid star left the Bernabeu for United last summer and has proved a fine purchase for Erik ten Hag.

Meanwhile, Fernandes was the match-winner against Aston Villa after his first-half strike.

The Portugal international raced in after Emi Martinez’s meek save was palmed into his direction while his shot took a deflection to fly past the Argentine.

Casemiro holding Bruno accountable for stupidly losing the ball with 20 seconds left, we almost conceded at the death because of it. Elite MENTALITY!!

Just moments before, Jadon Sancho had told Fernandes to ‘stop moaning’ in a game where his teammates appeared out to get him.

However, his goal in the 1-0 win has proved crucial to the Red Devils, who have moved nine points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham, who face Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

United can now likely start preparing for next season in the Champions League after being absent from the competition this year.

After the match, Ten Hag said: “I’m very happy with the points, but also with the performance.

“It’s a very good performance against a Villa team, unbeaten for 10 games and scoring in every game.

“The score could have been 3-1 or 4-1, that’s a very good performance.”
