The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, has said he is convinced that like Jonathan, Nigerians will yearn for President Muhammadu Buhari when he leaves office.

Garba Sheu made the claim in an interview with Channels Television on Monday, March 27, 2023, while lamenting over the level of criticisms thrown at the president, asserting that leaders are not loved while in office.

Citing the case of Goodluck Jonathan who he says was persecuted out of office, but has now become the favorite of many Nigerians, Mr Shehu was of the opinion that this same yearning will happen after Buhari has handed over to the next president.

As regards the cashless policy, Mr Shehu affirmed that the current cashless policy of the present administration is desirable and therefore irreversible.

According to him, “cashless is the way forward for Nigeria because cashless nations and in fact, all advanced nations of the world have gone cashless”.

Acknowledging the challenges that have accompanied the change, the president’s spokesman said it is sad that the only people who should have been more pained are the ones who are inflicting pains on the lower segment of the society.

Meanwhile, the National President of the All Christian Leaders and Ministers Forum (ACLMF), Rev. Sam Ogedengbe, has declared that no devil incarnate can truncate what God has ordained for Nigeria, emphasising that the country’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is God’s anointed president.

Ogedengbe disclosed this on Monday at the headquarters of the ACLMF in Lagos, in reaction to an alleged plot by some disgruntled persons in the opposition to stop the transition process, especially Tinubu’s swearing-in and inauguration of the next administration on May 29, 2023.

The cleric, who is also the General Overseer of Overcomers’ Pentecostal Prayer Assembly, Abule-Egba, Lagos, emphasised that no devil incarnate can truncate what God has ordained.

Ogedengbe affirmed that God has Hands in Asiwaju’s Presidency, which without doubt, had been proved in a number of ways, commencing from the primaries, even at the party level, to the final general elections, amid internal and external intrigues, which he eventually triumphed.

According to him: “No devil incarnate can truncate what God has ordained. God has His Hand in Asiwaju’s Presidency. A lot of people said he would not win the primaries, he won. We all saw what happened even during the primaries, up to the final general elections. He triumphed.

“They said he would die before the election, he did not die but won the election. So the next agenda of the devil is to truncate his swearing-in.

“Asiwaju will be sworn in and rule this country, Nigeria, for eight years if he so wishes. God’s Hand is on the life of Tinubu”, Ogedengbe said.

The former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the erstwhile Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola on Christian Religion, said that if the plan of the enemies is to prevent Tinubu’s swearing-in, they should bury the thought and find other things to do and stop wasting time and energy on what God has perfected.
