Labour Party Devises Means To Defend Peter Obi’s Votes, Gives Directives To Its Agents
MThe Labour Party is on the move to defend the votes of its presidential candidate, Peter Ob i, amid complaints of electoral malpractices against him.
On Monday, February 27th, the party directed all its agents across Nigeria to send the election results they obtained at their various polling units to a Whatsapp number.
Taking to its Twitter page, the Labour Party said: “All Labour Party Agents are by this notice asked to send the actual results of Form EC8A and EC8B especially those from Lagos and Rivers States ie the captured image results at the polling units and Ward Levels to this WhatsApp number; 08106679860. It is urgent!”
As reactions trail the directive, some ‘Obi-dients’ expressed optimism that the Labour Party will come out victorious in the election.
Meanwhile, a video contradicting the election results in Bauchi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, where the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that the Labour Party scored just 185 votes in the presidential election is trending.
The video clip shows that the Labour Party scored 313 votes in one polling unit in Bauchi LG.A: a number that faults INEC’s result that claims the Labour Party scored 185 votes in the entire Bauchi LGA of Bauchi State.
Prior to the virality of the video, INEC had announced that the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi scored 185 votes in the entire Bauchi LGA of Bauchi State.
Reacting to the video, a supporter of Peter Obi wrote on Twitter saying: “INEC announced that LP only got 185 total votes in the entire Bauchi LGA but here’s a polling unit in the same Bauchi LGA where LP got a score of 313 votes which was counted, recorded and pictured.”
Also sharing the original result from the polling unit where the Labour Party scored 313 votes, one of Mr Obi’s supporters said: “This is very disturbing. Mr Obi scored 313 votes in one polling unit in Bauchi LGA but INEC said he scored 185 in the entire Bauchi LGA.”
@Vicky232: “Peter Obi should just get this as a fact too. This shouldn’t slide away.”
