A video which has sparked outrage on social media captures a man using a cane on his younger sister over her political choice in Nigeria’s presidential election.

The girl reportedly voted for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate, Bola Tinubu and it angered her brother who is a supporter of the Labour Party’s Peter Obi.

He learnt that she voted for APC and decided to whip her for going against the family’ preferred candidate.

In the video shared by NAIJAEVERYTHING on Instagram, he asked her to lie down on the centre table and used a cane to flog her while berating her for the vote she cast.

Edujandon.com is unable to post the video due to the display of cruelty.

Nigerians condenmed the man’s action and she did not commit a crime by voting her choice, others said he should be arrested for his barbaric action.

miye__; This is nonsense, nobody should be treated like this for voting their preferred candidate

officialfantasyboy; We don’t want all this silly videos. It’s not funny, there’s no reason for videos like this. Don’t distract our timeline with irrelevant content, what are we supposed to do with this information? Laugh? Cry?. Emotions are high, but content like this doesn’t do the job to help the situation of the country.

Meanwhile, Vice Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ifeanyi Okowa earlier urged the people to vote the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) out of power in 2023.

The Governor of Delta state made the call while addressing supporters at a PDP rally in Warri township stadium, Warri South Local Government Area of the State.

Okowa said APC brought increased hardship and poverty upon Nigerians, but the PDP does not want the people to remain poor after the current government ends in 2023.

The governor stressed that it is in the people’s best interest to ensure APC government leaves office next year because they are the party that brought hunger to Nigeria.

He also addressed claims by the APC that his administration wasted the State’s resources on appointments, saying that he only appointed many people to provide food on the table of Nigerians.

Governor Okowa further tackled the Labour Party, which he said has no hope of victory because “it is only in PDP you can find a road. Let’s vote for PDP.”

He said; “We don’t want poverty to continue. 8 months ago, students were at home. Not going to school because they couldn’t pay. In Delta, people were going to school. We were able to pay salaries. We don’t want that party that’s spoiling things for us. Vote them out.”
