“Why men find it hard to trust us” – Actress, Mojisola Adebanjo Reveal
Rising Nollywood actress, Mojisola Adebanjo, has explained why Nigerian men find it hard to date and trust actresses.
The model said thatit is largey due to the fact that they are always around peopleby virtue of their job and also because of several things written about them in news.
Mojisola, who spoke during an interview with The Punch, noted that a lot of men are scared of going into relationship with actresses.
She said; “From experience, I have realised that many men find it hard being in serious relationships with actress. It is usually so hard for them to trust us, because they feel we are in everyone’s faces; coupled with all the stories usually written about actresses. A lot of men are actually scared to date actresses.”
The actress also said she is open to marrying a younger man, but the age difference should not be too wide.
“There is nothing is wrong with marrying a younger lover. Like they say, ‘age is just a number’. However, I prefer my man older than me, but not too old. I love men who are mature, understanding, and think outside the box,” Mojisola said.
In other news, Nigerian actress, Yetunde Bakare has spoken on why women, especially celebrities refuse to disclose their real age.
She stated during an interview that ladies lie about their age because they are concerned about earning respect or feeling young.
Bakare, however, said the trend of lying or reducing one’s age is not peculiar to actresses as women in other walks of life do so too.
She said;
“Lying about one’s age isn’t limited to celebrities alone because a lot of people do it nowadays. Some do it because of their partners and some do it to earn respect. Others do it to seek sympathy or get job opportunities. A lot of people in different industries do it as well.
“Many hard-working single ladies do it when searching for Mr Right. In this part of the world, guys see dating an older woman as a taboo. Hence, women reduce their age most times to feel young and accepted”.
