Ojuelegba deadly accident: Sanwo-Olu orders trial of truck owner, driver
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered the trial of the truck owner and the driver of the vehicle which fell on a bus and killed nine people on Sunday..
A 20-feet containerised truck fell off the Ojuelegba Bridge on a danfo bus, crushing nine people to death in the process.
A statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso on Monday, said the government commiserated with the families of those who lost their loved ones in the Ojuelegba truck accident on
“May The Almighty console them and grant them the strength to go through this difficult time. Nine persons died in the accident,” he said.
Four of the identified victims are Miss Blessing Isioma, Abdurahman Okoya Sunday, Felix John Ifeanyi, 40 and Olatokunbo Basirat King, 49.
Omotoso said Sanwo-Olu, after receiving an interim report of the incident, has directed the police to speed up their investigation of the matter.
He said the governor has given directives that the driver of the truck and the owner, who are in police custody, must be prosecuted.
