Senate President, Ahmed Lawan To Be Removed & Replaced Over Buhari’s Impeachment Threat
A few days after some Nigerian lawmakers in the national assembly walked out of the Senate chamber over moved by Lawan to block the impeachment process of President Muhammadu Buhari, a Nigerian senator has revealed a plan by other lawmakers to remove Lawan if he repeats such step.
It was alleged that some Nigerian lawmakers had attempted to impeach president Buhari a few days ago but Lawan, the senate president blocked the move by stopping the lawmakers from passing the motion.
However, a Nigerian lawmaker on Friday, made it known that Lawan might be removed from his position as the debate president of Nigeria if he tries to block the process of Impeaching the president of the country in the next sitting.
According to a report from Politics Nigeria, Senator Francis Fadahunsi, a Nigerian senator representing Osun in the national assembly has sent a message to the senate president about what he must do and not do in the next sitting.
Regarding the issue of insecurity, he made it clear that the senators would not hesitate to take steps that would provide security and secure the integrity of Nigeria even if it means to remove the president from power and removing anyone who might stop the impeachment process.
Part of his statement reads ” We have been talking and giving suggestions on how we could end the insecurity challenges facing the country but the Head (Senate President) is hooked to the Villa. He has been frustrating all our moves to take drastic measures against the President. “
