Jubilation as DSS Finally Release Mama Biafra, Ukamaka Ejezie from Detention
Mama Biafra has regained freedom from the lawless Nigeria DSS.
Mama Biafra who is in her 80s was arrested after he appeared in one of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s trial in Abuja and demanded for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s freedom and freedom of Biafra.
Department of State Services has finally released Ukamaka Ejezie, popularly called Mama Biafra, who is said to be the foster mother of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The agency released Mama Biafra on Sunday after several weeks in detention.
The leader of Kanuâs legal team, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, confirmed her release in a short statement obtained by PM News.
He said, âI am very delighted to inform you all that Mrs. Ukamaka Ejezie (Mama Biafra) has regained her freedom. She is now out of the DSS dungeon. Thank thee Chukwuokike Abiama for this huge success.
âWe are not relenting, every prisoners of conscience, including our indefatigable client, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will soon regain their freedom.
We in the legal team, are doing everything legally permissible to make it happen, we are not resting on our oars at all, be assured. Forward ever and backward never! We move.â
Mama Biafra, a septuagenarian was arrested during Kanuâs last court appearance in Abuja on May 18.
The woman had been acting as his mother since his parents died in 2020.
